I only stayed four weeks in Geos New York but I could learn a lot. In fact, I could meet people from different countries like South Korea, Thailand, Poland, Czech Republic, and Taiwan…and we had to communicate in English of course! So it becomes very instructive because you can learn each other. In addition, teachers are very good; I could improve my English comprehension and enrich my vocabulary. I recommend all people to live an experience like that above all in this wonderful city: New-York!

My name is Zsuzsanna Petyko and I come from Hungary. I spent two weeks in New York City at GEOS. I had a really good time here. I think it was the best trip in my life. GEOS is the best place to study English and meet new people at the same time. You can meet people around the world, and you can share your experiences with each other. I could see my progress with English. I had really fantastic teachers, and after class I could practice English with friends and with my homestay family. The teachers, the staff and everybody supported me. I’m really grateful. It’s hard to say goodbye to the friends, to GEOS and to the city, but I think I’m going to come back as soon as I can. Thank you GEOS! Thank you New York! See you soon!

I am an air traffic controller so my job is to communicate with pilots over the radio. What I needed the most was to speak and to improve my skills in communicating. So my private tutorial with my teacher was perfect. I learned English using games and using text. I got to talk a lot. I am also a little claustrophobic so sometimes we went outside to have classes. It was nice to walk and talk, and learn English in real life.

GEOS is a good school for studying English. Definitely. There are good environment and facilities such as bright classroom and whole English surroundings. Teachers in GEOS also have a lot of experience in teaching. You can not only learn native English speaking, writing, listening and reading skills, but also learn America's culture. The way they teach English, you will never feel bored and you will enjoy studying English during the process of the class.
Besides teachers, everybody here loves to answer your questions. You will always get the information you were looking for. Furthermore GEOS holds excursion days each month. It's a good chance to adventure NYC with teachers and your classmates. Come to GEOS and you will get more than you can imagine.

Studying at GEOS New York is a such great adventure and I liked it very much. I have met many people from different countries and I have learned a lot with them. The teachers are great and motivated to teach us our second language.
GEOS' staff and teachers are nice and always trying to help us. They take us on fun excursions to parks, museums (like MOMA - it is gorgeous!), diverse neighborhoods and types of places where we might meet other students and learn about American culture.
Anyway, I feel more confident speaking English and I just want to say:
Thanks guys!

My classes were really nice because there were different nationalities such as Korean, Spanish, Chinese, Thai... It was well-mixed. We got to learn about different cultures and I learned to listen to different English-speaking accents. The teachers were really accessible and funny but they were also serious about teaching. The class size of about 10 was great and the teachers could give personal feedback.
My homestay was wonderful. They had 2 twin boys. I had nice moments with the family. The mother spoke a lot of English with me. The food was very good.

I should say, "The quality of the lesson will be judged by how qualified the teachers are, not by the brand name of the company (institute or academy)."
In retrospect, it was wise decision of me to come here, GEOS New York. Wonderful teachers, international students, additional pleasures of sightseeing and etc. Everything they teach us is very authentic and highly up to date, which means, extremely useful. If I learn a new word or an expression, I can apply it to my day to day communication almost instantly. All teachers are well aware of the power of the accuracy in English, so they always make us understood the true definition of each words and give us actual example sentences. Also they use wide variety of methods (quiz, role playing, writing, free talking with topics, homework and tests) to make us get use to what we have learned.
I really enjoyed my studying at the GEOS in New York.

Hi! My name is Keina and I am from Japan. I was studying at GEOS for 9 months and just finished recently. Before I came to New York I didn't speak English at all, so I started as a beginner in Level 1. I couldn't understand what my teacher was talking about in my class. I had no idea how life is in New York.
I always tried to make friends from different countries and so I was able to understand them after a while and we could laugh about the same things. I learned a lot about other countries and cultures and I was really impressed and interested at the same time. I actually realized studying English is fun! I really enjoyed my time at GEOS and made a lot of friends, students as well as staff members and teachers. Finally, guess in which level I finished my course? In level 5! That means I learned a lot and not just English..from GEOS and New York! Thanks everybody!

Experience is what you see, touch and feel.
Experience is true knowledge that doesn't only happen in your classroom.
Experience is everything.
Teachers here don't only teach me English but also about American culture,
lifestyle and New York City.
Here, I met new friends. I have new experiences that I never thought
I would know.
Geos is the right choice for me. I love Geos.

Studying in GEOS New York is great, because it has been a good experience studying English with people of different countries.
GEOS has very good teachers and the classes are interactive and full of variety. You can explain your favorite topics and you can find out other experiences and cultures of my classmates.
I like GEOS because you can practice English all the time, during breaks, at GEOS activities and you get to see a lot places in New York on GEOS excursions!

I needed to prepare my portfolio and I wanted to go to an American university. This program was exactly what I was looking for. The course is tough but Kimberly(GEOS) is a really great teacher. She's helpful and she gives a lot of motivation. She's also social and we always talk to her after class. Sun Young(Ashcan) is very involved and really tries to help the students. Sometimes he stays all night with us. You don't feel alone because veryone is also learning English and preparing portfolios. This program lets me know how American schools are.

In our lives, it is fortunate to gain new experiences. It has already been a couple of months since I came to New York.
Originally, I was afraid of strange people and life. But now, I love New York. Although I'm still not good at English, I'm getting familiar with English and it is getting interesting.
I like New York because of its museums and parks. These are good for my spirit.
Also it is good to be able to try diverse food and meet people. I think for those reasons a lot of people love New York.
GEOS is also my good choice. These are good teachers and nice friends from many countries. GEOS' staff members are also kind.
I'm going to study here for a short time. I'm going to study hard. Although I have just a short time. I guess I'll miss here and want to come again.
I love New York. I love GEOS.

I like my homestay. My homestay mother is very friendly and caring. She cooks everyday and I eat well. The room is a large room. It's very comfortable with internet connection. It's with a television - large-size - and a DVD player. There's all you need. The location is good too. It's only 25min by subway. I have no problems!

The 3 months in the institute of GEOS was great!
I discovered a lot of students from different countries (Korea, Thailand, Japan, Italy, Spain Columbia, France, etc...) with who I always spoke English.
The atmosphere was very good and I felt we gone all in the same direction to perfect our English.
Now I know I have a lot of friends from the world...
The teachers gave the lessons, of course, only in English, without translations; after one week I could better understand when they spoke and asked me a question.
I worked my bases of grammar, vocabulary, and prononciation. After one month, I felt the progress...
The staff is omnipresent to help us and install a good atmosphere; they organised free activities after the classrooms; such as pizza or popcorn with a movie; visits to Brooklyn bridge; sometimes parties such as for Halloween party or clubbing in NYC... In the institute I could use internet free (wi-fi) to communicate with my family and my friends.
Every 4 weeks we had a presentation to do, it was very interesting to present a topic in front of our class room; and after the 8 weeks, there's a test to change of level.
For me, GEOS was a very good experience, I met a lot of interesting people..
I regret only don't stay more time!

I think GEOS is a very good language school and the teachers are kind to all of students. I have a lot of friends here. I liked my first teacher(Sasha) because she's very friendly and talkative. I think my new morning teacher(Diane) is very good at teaching grammar and speaking. I think I have improved. Next time, I think I might come back to GEOS and join the TOEFL class.

My name is Ziya Alisanoglu. I am from Germany. It was my first time to study abroad. I chose GEOS New York as my first destination. At the beginning, I was in Level 2. And then, I moved to Level 3 after 3 months. I improved a lot on my speaking and listening skills during the short-term study.
I loved the atmosphere in Chelsea campus. Specially, my teachers, Brain and Brett were really great. We always got along together in my classes. My best friends in my classes were Marti and Sharon. They came from Korea. Also, I met my schoolmates who were from Turkey, Thailand, Japan and Columbia.
I had a really great time while I studied at GEOS New York. I remembered on my birthday, one of GEOS staff took me to Rockefeller Center to see the Christmas light up. I never forgot that excited moment. I really appreciated what GEOS had done for me in the past five months.

I don't have words enough to explain this trip. I came to New York because my sister was going to make a fellowship in ENT (ear, nose, and throat) in the Long Island College Hospital. My parents want me to study at a language center, so I can learn English at the class room and practice in the city. I was going to another school but they didn't accept me because of my age, so my family's friend told me to come to GEOS. I think it was better for me because the classmates are from different countries and the only way that we can talk with them is using English language. For sure it was worthwhile and I think everyone should do this once. The teachers make the class funny and interesting. I will certainly recommend for everyone that wants to make English classes in another country. My classmates are funny and I will miss this time when I go back to Brazil.

It's very comfortable to be here. When you don't speak English so well, everyone is making you comfortable. I made a lot of friends here. I really enjoyed sharing culture. I learned a lot about Asian culture especially. American culture - we have a lot in Belgium. There's music and movies. I learned a lot of slang here, which I wouldn't have learned studying in my country.
My goal was to be comfortable in English. I feel I reached it. I'm much more talkative than before. It was difficult to pass from French to English but now I can pass from French to English. It's easier for me to meet new people. I feel it's a very unique experience to come here - even just here in this school. I learned so much.

Hi...my name is Yassen, and I'm from Yemen. Most of the students do not know about my country, maybe even you, so look it up in a map or google it.
I started studying in GEOS in the middle of October with the goal of obtaining a good TOEFL score ahead of me. First, I started in level 6 where the coolest instructor, Jennifer, teaches. And after two and a half months of fun, laughter, partying during the holiday season, broadening my understanding and happiness covered with education, the real thing started which was preparation classes of TOEFL. I enrolled in that class for one month and a half, but this class wasn't as fun as level 6. It was much more intensive and hard, but I managed to survive. Dee was the instructor then who, by the way, had endured me very much. Anyway, my TOEFL test is getting closer so wish me luck, people...
Well...coming to America is one of the best experiences in my life, and GEOS has had a huge part of it where I learned, laughed, had fun, partied, met new friends, broadened my mind, and stepped ahead in the path to my future...

Hi, I'm Chris and I come from Gabon.
Above all, I'd like to say, studying, in GEOS is the greatest experience that I'd never lived before. The governing body is very friendly and competent. Educational structures are amazing and pretty efficient.
My first class of day, I was a little bit embarrassed, shy, and ashamed because at that moment, my listening and speaking skills were bad. When my teachers and classmates spoke in class, I couldn't understand anything.
But soon after my first month, I could understand and speak with my teachers and classmates during the class times - even during the break times. Moreover, with the mixture of cultures, I mean, Korean, Thai, Japanese, Spanish, and so on... I don't learn only English, I become more culturally literate.

Hi, my name is Thomas. I've been studying in GEOS for 5 months, I'm here for a professional training and I will never regret my choice.
I began in level 5, and now I'm in level 6. I'm improving my skills every day because of the greatest teachers I've ever had. Also, the staff is really helpful; it’s easy to flourish in this context.
I've been enjoying those months with some classmates from all around the world and that makes you more open minded. Having activities after school with them is good to practice English in a friendly atmosphere even if sometimes I wonder what strange spectacle we show to the native speakers when we slaughter their language shamelessly together.
As far as New York, the city is just amazing. No matter what you want to do, you can find it in the city that never sleeps.
Now, I am struggling with myself just to go back home rather than stay. It is always the same inner fight that being responsible after having a good time.

Hi, I'm “Min” from Korea. When I think about GEOS, I can't stop talking till tomorrow. First of all, I can speak English much more accurately and fluently than before. Especially, speaking was the worst part of my English. But now, I can express my thoughts clearly. My teachers (Alicia and Jennifer) are amazing. They are friendly, open-minded, and their classes are awesome.
My classmates, they are friends from different countries. Even though we have different nationalities, ages, and cultures, we have gotten along together and I'm never going to forget this beautiful memory.
Next, GEOS staff is very kind and always considers about students' comfort.
Finally, GEOS gave me a wonderful host family. They are my NY mom and dad. After I go back to my country, of course I will keep in touch with them.
My final goal is to be an English teacher. GEOS was the best step to achieve my goal. Thank you to everybody in GEOS. ^_^

I had learned a lot, not only English but also the other national culture. When I came to New York for first time, everything was strange. For instance, I lost my way when I went to school first day. I asked people on the street. But my English was not very well. When I asked them, people just passed by me without answer. I had a bad impression about New York. But when I studied in GEOS, all of my teachers tried to understand my speech and fixed my skill.
Also, students who come from each country were filled with passion to learn English. Also, we can learn about other country's culture. To be frank, I sometimes didn't understand teacher's speaking. But, everyday after school, I asked about daily study to my classmates or teachers. They always explained with a smile. So, I am improving.
As time goes on, it's time to finish. I don't want to say farewell to GEOS and NYC. But I have a lot of good memories in GEOS. They help me to improve English so I get confidence.
I'll miss GEOS and NYC. Have fun, guys.

I will take my TOEFL test in 2 months. I'll surely get in the 80s but I hope I'll get over 100!

You can find all kinds of food, bars, museums, people, etc. And it would take years to experience and try everything, to discover all the things that this city brings.
