Homestay Program and Student Residences

Yukako
I had a good experience in New York but my time here was too short. My host family was really friendly. My host mother was funny and she prepared much food. Especially for breakfast. One night, my host mother and I also went out to eat dinner and watch the Broadway show, The Lion King. That was fun. GEOS New York was a wonderful experience for me. ~ Yukako (JAPAN)

The GEOS Homestay Program is intended to give visiting foreign students a first-hand experience of American culture by sharing in everyday host family life. As well as being able to use practical English language skills they have learned in school, it is expected that students will be able participate in family activities for a holistic view of life in New York City.

A GEOS staff member visits each of our host families with students’ interests in mind. All families have also had a police background check. Our aim is to provide our students with a secure, educational and vibrant environment. Our host families live in safe, comfortable neighborhoods in Queens, Brooklyn, and Northern New Jersey.

Alternatively, we can also place you in a student residence close to the school.  Please download a detailed list of all the residences that we work with HERE.
